Community Pantry: Volunteers Needed!

The Myatts Field North Community Pantry with Healthy Living Partnership aims to support local people to reduce their food shopping bills, while offering more choice than a foodbank and creating a sense of community and solidarity. Since opening in February this year, the pantry has grown steadily and now supports 32 families every week during it’s Tuesday opening and costs just £5 for 20 household items. Try that at your local supermarket!

The fee from members goes directly to paying for fresh fruit and veg for the following week and HLP also source donated food from a range of charities including FareShare and City Harvest.

The pantry is open 11-2pm on Tuesdays and residents are very much welcome to join, or indeed to help out by volunteering. If you’d like any more info, just pop down or contact Anna at HLP on the details below.

HLP are also considering running an evening pantry to support working residents who need to access affordable food, but it would depend on volunteers who can commit to running it.

To express your interest to become part of the evening pantry team call 07701 365 551 or email contactus@healthylivingplatform.org
