Grounds Maintenance News: the Battle of Troy
We know that our roles go far beyond what is written in our job descriptions. We take immense pride in the work we do every day, and we are fortunate to have a team that truly embodies the heart of our community. Recently, that spirit of care was perfectly captured by our grounds maintenance operative, Troy.
One of our vulnerable residents had been struggling with her back garden. Over time, the greenery had become overgrown and unmanageable, laying siege to the space and the sheer scale of the work had become completely overwhelming for her. It wasn’t just an overgrown garden; it was becoming a source of stress in a space that should have been her sanctuary. Troy showed up for battle with his strimmer, his hedge cutter, and, most importantly, his signature cheerful and positive attitude. He spent the day tackling the thicket, carving away the overgrowth, and transforming the space until it was clear, breathable, and beautiful once again. Now, our resident has her garden back—a place where she can sit, relax, and enjoy the fresh air. While we have our KPIs and our daily targets to hit, we know that the real measure of our success is the impact we have on the lives of our residents.
