Working together to tackle Anti-Social Behaviour in Lambeth

Lambeth Council joins other local authorities in observing the Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) Awareness Week, running from 30 June to 6 July 2025, aiming to raise awareness of ASB, its impact on the community, and how we can all play a part in making Lambeth safer.

This ongoing initiative is crucial in encouraging both residents and local businesses to report incidents of ASB and to understand the support services available for those affected. Throughout this week, we are highlighting the importance of community involvement, and our collective responsibility to reduce and prevent ASB in our borough.

Theme 2025

This year’s focus is #MakingCommunitiesSafer, highlighting the vital role of community safety and the need to support those affected by ASB. It brings national attention to the importance of tackling anti-social behaviour (ASB) and creating safer, more supportive communities.

Objectives of ASB Awareness Week

The key objectives of ASB Awareness Week are to:

  1. Raise awareness of ASB: The week aims to educate residents about the different forms of ASB, from verbal abuse and vandalism to harassment, and how they negatively impact both individuals and communities.

  2. Encourage reporting: One of the key messages this week is how important it is to report ASB. With easy-to-use reporting channels, residents can take action and ensure that their concerns are addressed in a timely and efficient manner.

  3. Provide support for victims: ASB can cause emotional and physical distress, and it is vital that victims know where to turn for help. During this week, we are showcasing the support services available, including helplines and local charities, that can provide guidance and assistance.

  4. Promote community safety: This initiative is about ensuring that Lambeth residents work together to create a safer environment. We encourage community groups, local businesses, and residents to join forces with the council to combat ASB and promote safety across the borough.

As we progress through ASB Awareness Week, we are collecting feedback from residents, businesses, and local organisations about the effectiveness of our efforts. This feedback will help shape future ASB initiatives and ensure that Lambeth remains a safe and welcoming environment for all.
