Fitting Radiator Valves (and why you probably shouldn’t do it)
For those of you living in a new build property, you may have noticed that a radiator in one of your bedrooms doesn’t have a TRV valve, or a similar valve to the picture on the right.
This is because that radiator is controlled only by your main thermostat, while the others with TRVs, can be adjusted individually using the TRV valve. This is how the system was designed, which means that fitting a TRV valve to a radiator without one, as some residents have done, will affect the flow in your system (because that’s what they do) and potentially cause you problems further down the line.
