Home Grown: Better Latte than Never

October marked our 1st anniversary at the cafe. Thank you to those who celebrated with us on the day and over the week’s activities, and also to everyone that has supported us this past year!

The year has been filled with highs… and more highs, from coffee mornings to poetry nights, pantry meals to Caribbean pay day brunches, children’s activities to senior citizens music and movement. We hope we’ve had something for everyone!

We’ve loved making connections in the community with Gill’s ability to remember everyone’s name and Portia’s ability to remember everyone’s repeat orders. Getting to know and support the community has been a real highlight.

Some cafe facts:

·       We’ve sold 1,346 lattes (gosh you love a milky coffee)

·       Our top selling breakfast item has been Turkey-Bacon, Poached Egg & Avocado on Toast (YUM!)

·       …and we have been able to implement 86% of your suggestions posted on our ‘Suggestions Board’

We look forward to what the next year holds and in answer to our frequently asked question: ‘You are going to stay, aren’t you?’
