No BBQs on the Estate – Please Help Keep Everyone Safe

As the warmer weather arrives, we know many of you enjoy chilling outdoors with friends and family. However, we must remind you that BBQs are not allowed anywhere on the estate, including in Eythorne Park, communal green spaces, balconies or roof terraces, as lovely as that might sound.

Barbecues pose a genuine fire risk, particularly in built‑up areas with flats located close together. Hot coals, gas flames, and drifting embers can easily ignite nearby materials, putting homes, neighbours, and emergency services at risk. Even small or disposable BBQs can cause significant damage and danger.

Using BBQs on balconies or roof terraces is especially hazardous. Fires can spread quickly to other flats, and smoke can affect vulnerable residents, including children, older people, and those with respiratory conditions.

Thank you for helping to keep our community safe. If you have any questions about estate safety or fire regulations, please get in touch with the housing team.
